Campaign ends in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for 17th Lok Sabha elections. Both the Telugu States are going to polls on May 13. Simultaneously the AP voters will have to vote for its Assembly also.
As millions are reaching their native places to vote for the Lok Sabha elections, thousands are reaching their designated Distribution and Reception Centers to take the polling materials including electronic voting machines (EVMs), across both the states.
There is heavy rush on the streets of Hyderabad as Andhra Voters are preparing to go their respective destinations in their State. The private buss are charging as high as Rs 5,000 to 6,000 per person, according to one of the commuter who wish to go to Kadapa.
AP will go polls on May 13, along with TG, for its 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly constituencies in the fourth phase.
Coming to Telangana, the campaign ends for 17 Lok Sabha elections in the fourth phase. There are about 625 contestants in the fray, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy is contesting from Secunderabad constituency while Asaduddin Owaisi is from Hyderabad. ECI banned bulk SMS, broadcast and display of campaign related material on TVs.
On the national wide, the campaign ended on Saturday for the fourth phase Lok Sabha polls covering 96 MP seats in 10 states and union territories. Polling will be held in 17 MP seats in TG, 25 in AP, 13 in UP, 5 in Bihar, 4 in Jharkhand, 8 in MP, 11 in Maharashtra, 4 in Odisha, 8 in WB and one in J&K.
