After 10 long years, the light is seen at the end of the tunnel. Both the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana agreed to sit and resolve various issues surfaced out of bifurcation.
The AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had written letter to his counterpart TG Chief Minister a Revanth Reddy asking for one-on-one meetings to resolve bifurcation. Naidu wanted the meeting to be conducted in Hyderabad on July 6.
There are various issues unresolved for the last 10 years which have financial implications. For instance, the Schedule IX deals with division of assets and liabilities and Schedule X institutions division is the major unresolved issues. According to the government, there are about 91 institutions under IX schedule and 142 institutions under X schedule which needs to be divided as part of bifurcation. Both the states are at loggerheads on these assets which estimated amount of Rs 1.42 lakh crore.
This apart, both the states are fighting over the division of water and electricity generation units. Naidu believes that the standoff between both the states is impacting the development of both the states. In view of that he wanted to have a straight face-to-face meeting between both the Chief Minister and once for all resolve these issue for the betterment of both the states.
