It’s time now may be for China to extend its hand for cooperation to India on multiple issues including access to retail markets, at a time when the United States of America (USA) is  venturing to hike tariffs on Chinese imports.

It would be beneficial for both, China and India, to come together shunning the escalated boundary disputes and mutual distrust. Of course, it is the strategic choice that both the leaders Mr Modi and Mr Xi will have to take, hopefully in the year 2025.

Although the world strategists assume that China may look for friendship with India in order to accessing its large consumer markets, nevertheless it require a bold thinking for the leaders of both the countries. The leaders need to wither away all kinds of apprehensions and mistrust, more so, after the military fights leading to unwanted causalities on both the sides.

Buying peace with China, at this juncture is a needed option as the country is struggling to silence Bangladesh from its ugly challenges, and on the other end India need to tackle with the Pakistan issue, such as terrorism in Kashmir.

Well, that the proposition of friendship between China and India is not so simple or easy task. For which China need to create a total confidence in the minds of Indian leadership that it will not indulge or pose in any manner to challenge its national security, either individually or joining with later’s enemy in the region.

China also must demonstrate its preparedness not to indulge in any activity that limit India’s progress in Asian markets and offer equal opportunities and respect on par with all the market players including China, and India is not acceptable to be the subordinate position to any country including China.

On the other hand, China may also accept various conflicting issues like India joining with West to limit China growth, the issues relating to Taiwan or Tibet. There is a need to protect the age-old civilization of these two Asian Giants, and for which there is a need for proper discourse between India and China.

In fact, the better relations between India and China would enhance the prospects of the developing and underdeveloped country in the Asian region and can bring greater stability. For instance, there was a proposal to build Corridor connecting Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar, which is still on paper.

Be hopeful that the leaders of both the countries try to resolve differences and start towards short-term measures like lifting restrictions on trade and travel, measures to improve trade and investment and more foreign direct investment from China.
