Naidu, Reddy to form panel to resolve bifurcation issues

The first historic meeting between Chief Ministers of both the telugu states to resolve issues arising out of bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh is concluded. Both have decided to form two committees of ministers and officials to determine the roadmap for the future deliberations.

The meeting also felt necessity to resolve the issues quickly without much delay in the interest of the development of both the states. The committee of ministers and committee of officials will have representation from both the states. It will identify the issues require immediate attention of the states and settle through negotiation. Both the states have to present the members from their state before constituting the committee. Similarly, these committees will also be notified giving authority and legal binding by both the states.

Initially, the officers committee will deliberate on the issue which can be resolved at their level across the table, and those needed the attention at the political level will be placed before the ministers committee in order to find solution for the issues.

At the final stage, the issues require the attention of the Chief Ministers, it will be placed before the Chief Ministers of both the state. The Chief Ministers have agreed to meet once again to resolve the issues, if any.

 The sources summing up saying that the meeting went on a friendly fashion and both the chief ministers sought information about the status of the pending issues, especially the issues where the apportionment of assets and liabilities listed under Schedule IX and X and also those assets which were not mentioned in the reorganization Act.
